The financial means necessary to obtain one year of residence with a non-profit visa are related to the IPREM (Indicador Público de Renta de Efectos Múltiples).

On numerous occasions I read comments in which it is said that the amount depends on the autonomous community or the official on duty. It is not true as we will see next.

The non lucrative Visa, grants to the nationals of third countries the possibility of living in Spain during one year, without carrying out any professional activity.

The visa must be requested in the country of origin with a maximum of 90 days before the date of entry in Spain.

The most significant requirements for this type of visa are:

– Obtain a criminal record certificate for the last five years.

– To subscribe a private health insurance with a Spanish insurance company.

– Obtain a medical certificate from a public or private center in the country of origin.

– To demonstrate the necessary economic means to cover the expenses of stay, and in its case, that of its relatives.
